Hercules Editions author Claire Crowther will be appearing at a free event at the The Saison Poetry Library, Royal Festival Hall, on 7 October. Full details are on the Southbank Centre’s website here, where they say:
What is She Saying? presents poems inspired by early twentieth-century silent film. Three very different poetic responses summon up the voices of women from this world. Claire Crowther reads from her new pamphlet Silents, while Professor Sharon Morris of the Slade School of Art presents her own poems alongside those by HD, the actor, silent-film theorist and modernist poet. Plus, Cleo Barnham reads from Mary Jo Bang’s poem Louise in Love, which has fascinating links to silent film star Louise Brooks.
